Introduction

Green Circle Preschool is a parent run co-operative preschool for children aged 3 to 5 years old.  Our classroom is located in the Parkallen Elementary School, in the community of Parkallen.

Our guiding principle is to provide a creative preschool experience that emphasizes intellectual, emotional, social and physical development.  Children choose their own activities including water and sand play, arts and crafts, math and writing games, puzzles, carpentry, dramatic play, blocks and toys. Each day follows a routine but the learning and play activities are usually unstructured.  Group activities such as snack time, gym, stories and songs allow the children to work on socialization skills while playing and interacting with each other. 

Parental involvement is a key component of the successful running of Green Circle Preschool.  Parents are responsible for running the school (the Executive Board) and fundraising, as well as assisting in the classroom and performing many of the daily or weekly tasks to ensure that the class runs smoothly.
